Default Official word from Samsung: Galaxy s II coming in august.

All,

http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2388808,00.asp

Samsung says "sometime in august". Hope I can continue waiting. Been off contract on my 3gs for 1 month and it's killing me.

Yes I read a similar article at mobile burn website that the GSII will be released most likely on the three major carriers (sorry four), not sure.

Your best bet is to buy the international version of the Galaxy SII b/c it comes completly unlock and you will take advantage of all, I mean all of its features then to buy the at&t or other American Telecom variant b/c they will mess them up very bad.

They giant telecoms will install their own software and firmware that they'll even disable the most menial features the Galaxy SII can perform and in order to fully enjoy it you'll have to end up rooting it and having to install custom ROMs (nothing wrong with that if your'll willing to take the dive), but I love my unlocked Galaxy SII.

Normally I'd know who you're talking about, except all signs have pointed towards Sprint getting one so now I'm not sure who you mean!

Well pao23 which carrier are you on now? I'm on at&t and it was convenient for me to get the unlocked Galaxy SII b/c it is compatible with at&t's HSPA+ network on frequencies of 1900/850 Mhz (which are the ones here in America on at&t), but if you have Sprint, then it uses a different technology (CDMA) not GSM/HSPA+ so you'll have to wait until the CDMA version is released by Sprint.

HEY AMERICA! I'll probably have a quad core phone by the time the SGS 2 gets onto your soil!
