ok it worked!!! Thank you ... I now have 2.2...so from here I need to perm root correct? then I should be able to flash roms correct?

I am now getting OTA update message ...to update fm build 1.19.531.1 to 1.22
531.8 ..i assume i should NOT do this ..correct?

I've been looking but still confused... What exactally is my next step? Do I need to get the S -OFF? (where do I do this) and where do I root?

Yup now you need to root.
You're right, do NOT accept the OTA, otherwise you'll have to re-downgrade.

I've successfully rooted and have s-off. I am now ready to get roms. Question, I am still getting the OTA update requests, Is it safe to accept now since its rooted and s-off?

No it's not. You should not accept that update. Just install the rom of your choice (there should be no update notification after that).

I *JUST* found my battery charger for my camera! So I am currently making a video of the guide. Literally, reverting my phone back to the oTA 2.3.4 with S-On to do this. I will definitely had a video done using Windows 7 x64 as the PC OS. And will try to get it done for OS X. Keep in mind each time I do this, I have to revert back to stock so I need to try to do it at a time no one will text/call me which is hard for me (yeah, I get text/calls at 3-4am too >_>) But by the end of the day - expect a video guide!

when i try to push the fre3vo to the phone it says cannot stat: fre3vo no such file or dirctory. the fre3vo file is in my platform tools along with adb and im running cmd from platform tools. what the hell am i doing wrong.

I made a video from scratch. My laptop's monitor just died but ill add annotations when I can. The video ispretty straight forward though. It starts from a the beginning to end using a fresh install of Windows 7 x64

If you type:

dir fr*

Does fre3vo show up? If so, when you push it, try this instead

adb push fre3vo /data/local/tmp/fre3vo
