Default [Q] Does android use swap automatically?

As the title says: Does android automatically use the swap partition on my SD card? If not, how do I make it so? At the moment I am on MIUI, but I would change ROM to see the swap in action. Also MIUI isn't seeing the A2SD partition on my SD card either. How do I enable this? I think there is a script or something I need to run isn't there? Both of these partitions were created by CWM, A2SD is 1GB, Swap is 128MB.
All glory to the Hypnodroid!

As far as I know Android does not use swap. There is an app called swapper which enables a swap-file.

Android terminates inactive apps when the available memory is low. With the 512MBytes of the U8800 you should be good to go: As long as you do not have games running in the background, the memory is just enough.

By the way the sd-card is very slow and therefore would slow things down. At least that is my guess.

The stock kernel does not support SWAP. A custom kernel is needed.
