You don't need Gingerbread (or root) to use Netflix.

I learned this just after jumping over to Verizon, but after making the film. I came from a samsung where that was not the case. But hey, the title still works as it is true anyways. Still learning while trying to help others. Thank you...

First there are more updated versions of gingerbread floating around. Currently I am using 2.3.3. 2.3.4 is floating out there if you care to try it. The process is still the same and you can get an update to Odin as that is also an older, but still working version.

I wanted to add to this post to look out for the skype update. I get excellent WiMax internet in my house, but poor cell coverage so skype is my main way out. The Droid Charge update by skype that includes video chat sends it into a turn off and on boot loop. I was able to beat this by quickly jumping into the setting and turning on airplane mode which shut down skype from reaching out. Others methods such as killing the running app and uninstalling did not work fast enough before it would jump into another loop. I had the older version on titanium backup which worked without issue.
