This might not be how he did it, but I changed the screen grid size and accomplished it, you have to be using an alternate launcher like GO Launcher, but that willl0 create the effect

I set the number of rows to the maximum possible in ADWSettings

You should be able to place 10 words under eachother sice the row limit is 10 on ADW EX.
