you gonna go for stock rom rooted or custom rom? Also, if you want to root it you have to first unlock the boot loader which wipes the entire device so back up any thing you want on a PC. Another thing I recommend is mskip galaxy nexus tool kit (makes life much easier, its like the flash tool) and youl find in the Android development sticky section

Done all that after about three hours ahahaha. I'm gonna wait till next weekend and then I'm gonna throw AOKP and Franco Kernel on it.
After one day of use I'm extremely impressed with it. The screen is gorgeous, and the LED is super bright (I use the torch a lot). Face unlock is working nicely and the onscreen buttons are a nice change. I think one of the nicest things about it is that I can hear people clearly, and they can hear me clearly as well in a call, I mean compared to the x10... Now I just need to get a case and a screen protector for it, haha.
