KI3 supports long texts (I think KJ1 as well) and you can also use the sidekick modems.

That really depends on your area. People report better service in area X with modem Y. The best suggestion I have is to try 'em out and see which one works best for you.

Thanks Stephen and Itzi -- I did a quick search for "sidekick" in this SGS4G dev forum and couldn't find a post for sidekick modems. Could you point me into the right direction?
