Default Safe mode?

So does anyone know the purpose/anything useful you can do in this mode?

Yeah ive only heard of safe mode on the ipod when you mess **** up with jailbreaking! I would really like to know what you did and what rom/ kernel your running too... Thanks man

Safe mode is entered by holding down menu button during boot. Its only use is a minimal boot with only core android apps running. I used to use it as a vzw tech agent to troubleshoot android phones. You can't do anything special in it.

thanks lafronz I didnt even know how i got in to it.

I was on SRF 1.2, rebooted my phone and it wouldnt pass the samsung logo. Odin'd back to ec05 and the first boot was in safe mode.

Can someone define what core apps run, I want to know if I fudge my system can I perform a titanium backup in safe mode? Cuz I do that alot
