Default Why sbc?

Everyone seems to be asking for sbc for the upcoming sense kernels. I haven't been in a while..the last time I was looking at kernels it sounded like the general consensus on xda was that sbc was unfavorable and could even be dangerous to the phone. What happened?

Nobody could really substantiate the fear-mongering (for lack of a better term) and people just sort of accepted that SBC wasn't going to cause your phone to explode. It does give a pretty nice battery boost, so people went with it.

Luv SBC but alittle afraid to plug my phone in at night to charge! Is it safe to let it charge over night?

My phone is on the charger as much as it's off, since I'm usually keeping it connect via USB so I can get into the SD card at will, and it charges all night.

No probs.

Don't believe the scary hype about SBC Kernels....

It was pretty much a witch hunt. Some guy made a thread about his battery burning up, posted some half ass pictures and let the masses run with it. I used sbc with froyo with zero problems, always charged overnight and no issues.

I wanted to prove that SBC causes no harm to the battery. 9 months later my battery is still rocking. 12 hours off the charger and at 86% with SBC. You must be reading some old threads thinking that SBC will do something crazy.
