Default [ROOT] aZuZu Root Method for stock SE 2.3.3 GB - Step By Step

Be sure that you installed latest SEUS or PC Companion on your PC and let Windows update driver(s).

Tools needed >>
DooMLoRD's FlashTool for X10 only--> FlashTool_0.2.9.1-GBready_root_xRec

FOR ROOTING

Step 1: Make sure u are on stock 2.3.3 FW
Step 2: Enable Unknown Sources & USB debugging in Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Unknown Sources & Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB Debugging
Step 3: Power down device.
Step 4: In FlashTool select aZuZu_Kernel_DownGrade or use this one with FlashTool you already have >>> Kernel downgrade <<<
Step 5: Follow FlashTool instructions.
Step 6: When done, leave FlashTool running.
Step 7: Remove usb cable.
Step 8: Power on device, after vibration connect usb cable.
Step 9: Wait till you see any info in FlashTool, then click root.
Step 10: After root is done. Phone will reboot.
Step 11: If on Step 10: Phone didn't reboot pull out battery 1-2 min and place it back.
Step 12: In FlashTool select aZuZu_Kernel_UpGrade or use this one with FlashTool you already have >>> Kernel upgrade <<< .
Step 13: Follow FlashTool instructions.
Step 14: When done. Pull out usb cable.
Step 15: Power on your phone and phone will be rooted.

This method this will not wipe ur existing data.

How to check do you have all needed drivers?

1. Check is phone visible in FlashTool after upgrade and before root process.
2. In command prompt type command adb devices
If response is:
List of devices attached

and not :
List of devices attached
device ?????????????????????
Then you need to upgrade drivers.

Drivers UpGrade

Plug phone and in Control Panel / System / Device Manager remove semc drivers. UnPlug / RePlug phone it will start search for new drivers if you have follow first red typed text it should find new drivers and install them. And phone should be visible with FlashTool.

FOR INSTALLING RECOVERY

Mine with hybrid xRecovery --> FlashTool 0.2.9.1 with Z xRecovery 0.3-GBReady ( Thanks Z ) & updated X10 drivers

LAST WARNING FOR ALL PEOPLE --- DO NOT USE OPTIMIZE FUNCTION IN FLASHTOOL AFTER UPGRADE. BECOUSE OPTIMIZE FUNCTION USES PRE-BUILD BUILD.PROP FILE FROM ANDROID 2.1 AND IT WILL BREAK YOUR OS BOOTING. BUT IF YOU HAVE INSTALL XRECOVERY AND THEN DONE OPTIMIZE U CAN TRY USE THIS >> FlashTool_Optimize_FiX_xRecovery << OR un-tested method using batch script >> FlashTool_Optimize_FiX_Manual <<.

it works!

and looking at the files posted by aZuZu i can tell u that this will work on ALL BRANDED/GENERIC/REGIONAL 2.3.3 GB FWs... provided that the kernel.sin file remains same (which it will for all 3.0.1.G.0.75 FW)...

but the steps are not correct

u need to do this:

FOR ROOTING
  1. make sure u are on stock 2.3.3 FW
  2. enable Unknown Sources & USB debugging in Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Unknown Sources & Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB Debugging
  3. power down device
  4. Flash -- Kernel downgrade ... [ Leave FlashTool running] --
  5. remove usb cable
  6. Power on device
  7. immediately connect usb cable
  8. Wait till you see any info in FlashTool, then click root.
  9. After root reboot is done
  10. pull out battery and wait for few mins
  11. enter flash mode. and
  12. Flash -- Kernel upgrade.
  13. Power on your phone and phone will be rooted.

@aZuZu
great work aZuZu

Hi everybody!
First of all thanks for the big effort

Can anyone please tell me if once this root procedure has been successfully completed it will be now possible to install xRecovery 0.3 as usual (the same of 2.1)?

Many thanks!
