I would recommend adding a seccond script that will handle the CWM install, that way its only done if you want it

Does this also work with stock TB firmware? This is the Belgian version, it has a separate designation for some reason.

Just how i did! The V2 of the script has the feature to install cwm.
If you already rooted with the first version and now want to install cwm, you can do the process again and say yes when it asks to install cwm.

Yes, the boot image has the same structure for all the different versions.

Have you more than one cd drive? Have you tried to swap cd drive?
Is the cd readable?
Try to open it on windows. If you see only one file called universal-root.iso, then you have burned it as a file and not as a .iso image.
Anyway i have just burned a cd and tried: it works.

How to burn as .iso image? i have unzipped the universal-root.iso ans burned the unzipped files into cd. there are two folders (imased and boot) and a couple of files (mdssum, style, readme , index). is this correct? but it doesn't boot.

I have tried doing both the live cd and the version 2 tar file you just updated, and I am unable to neither. The software I'm running on my transformer is in my signature. Here's what's going on...

My pc is set up for dual boot, windows 7 x64 and ubuntu linux 11.04 x32...

When use the cd method, it loads, then just stays at a login prompt and never loads into the GUI. In my experiences, this means that the version of linux has a problem loading my video card drivers.

When i use the tar file when booted into ubuntu, i get the following error:

Now connect to usb
Press any key when you're ready.
Nvflash started
Permission Denied
Making a backup of your boot and recovery partitions in tf101-backup-20110803122722...

Nvflash started
[resume mode]
connection failed NvError 0x30010
Nvflash started
[resume mode]
connection failed NvError 0x30010

!!ERROR!!: Unable to read boot and/or recovery image from your tablet

Press any key to exit

Almost as if its not seeing my tab or something. I followed your directions to the T. What am I missing here?

Try with cdburnerxp (it's the easiest way).
You can download one installer frome here:
http://cdburnerxp.se/en/download

or the portable package if you don't want to install other software:
http://download.cdburnerxp.se/portab...4.3.8.2568.zip

Start the program (for the portable version the file is cdbxpp.exe) and click on "Burn iso image". Then select the .iso file you have downloaded and click "burn disk". All Done.

For the live-cd, i don't know what to say. Maybe if you set another resolution for your screen... (refer to this http://doc.slitaz.org/en:handbook:livecd)
In ubuntu I think you have to write
Code:
sudo ./universal.sh

Confirmed...the sudo command did the trick! I am now rooted. Thanks!
