I got my Otter box commuter series from FedEx today and its really nice i recommend it to anyone looking for something slick and that will protect the Photon 4G.

Has anyone with an Otterbox case tried it with the HD dock? The Sprint branded case doesn't work with the dock, hopefully Otterbox actually tested theirs with one before shipping.

Which Sprint case? I've got the case with the holster and it works with the dock. I assume that you aren't trying to use a case with the dock insert in place. I did have one slight issue with this case though and I resolved that with a small diamond file. The hole in the case where the USB and HDMI connectors are located was slightly too small and kept the phone from fully seating on the connectors. I don't know if that was an issue with just the one I got or all of them.

What do you mean the otterbox just came out? I ordered mine a week ago from otterbox.com and have it with my phone. Its been available in my Sprint corporate store since Monday.

Anyways the defender series does not work with the dock. I assume the same is true with the commuter series.

The Black case that comes with clip does fit (sold at corp stores), just make sure you take out the removable tray spacer on the actual car kit.

Never mind, I ordered the defender and Sprint insurance.

Thanks

~

Hi,
I really like the Commuter because of the silicone layer that covers the ports and buttons. I seem to keep getting water damage on my tablets and smart phones even though I'm careful to keep them out of water. Maybe because I use them in the kitchen a lot (I'm always cooking and cleaning for my wife and kids).

But it looks like it doesn't come with a belt clip that I need. Is this true. I'm hesitant to buy the Defender becuase man that thing looks really bulky and I like a sleek feel.

I do spend a lot of time with the kids at the beach and in the mountains so the Defender might be the way. Or I've been having so much trouble with water damage I'm thinking of getting the Sprint $8/month warranty and then I could just get the Sprint belt clip and if the dishwasher steams it up or it's dropped in the sand I just skip happily down to the Sprint store and pick up my new one.

What do you think?
Marc

Well...good for you! No such luck here where I live. Had to order online. My Sprint Corp store isn't even sure when they'll get them in.

Thanks for the replies. For some reason, I have to jiggle the phone with the case on to get the webtop option to appear for the dock. With the case off, the webtop option appears immediately when I drop the phone in. And yes, the plastic dock insert is out.
