3G issues with battery and speed

So there is a thread in another forum that mentioned going into the roaming preferences and switching from any CDMA to any roaming then back again to fix 3G speeds. While this did work and helped a little I have noticed two things now.

One, when on 3G with 4G, BT, and WIFI off the battery drains at 1% every 5 min and phone starts heating up(CPU hits 107+degrees).

And two, when I am doing speedtests or large downloads I see two things. One is the spedtest will error our and stop completely with data lost popup. This is with full bars and not even fluctuating. And two the download bar will jump back and forth. So when I downloaded a game at 11megs from the market the download bar, moving VERY slow at times, will jump around in percentage, it'll show 35% then 15% then 40% then 17% and so on, it is very very odd.

So has anyone seen there battery dropping off with 3G like this? And has anyone seen a data connection loss popup with full bars? (none of this is roaming it is all Sprint)

the only thing i've ever noticed is that it'll drop for a second (everything all gray) then come right back on (everything all blue) other then that i haven't seen any spikes in battery, although i wouldn't be able to tell with this 10% battery increment they have going on

Seems to work well and no battery drain that I have noticed and I just put it on yesterday and my issues started tuesday so I know it's not this app.

The issue is my signal indicator never turns grey it is always blue.
