Yes it'll just put your phone back to stock. So you'll gonna have to root it after and unlock it again if you want to try any custom Rom/kernel.

I had to zip it and throw it on my DropBox because it was so huge.

Hi..
This 198_7.SBF successfully flashed my phone with RSDLite. The process went OK and the new build appears in the about phone info. HOWEVER, the phone is not back to stock, I still have all the custom wallpapers and apps there, even contacts, .. am I missing something ?
Thanks

Yes, you are missing something. The sbf replaces the 'system' only. The changes you have are stored in the data portion. It does not wipe data if you just flash the sbf.

clarification?
I asked this in another thread, so I apologize for asking again... but I've been reading and reading as much as I can and I'm still really unclear: is 198_7 a software version that Sprint just never released? If so, why wasn't it every released? What are the differences from 198_6?

Background again: I just got my Photon about a week or two ago, ran all the updates, and it is on 198_6. I've been pretty happy with it (rooted, but still locked, w/ go launcher), but I was thinking of trying the notification toggle mod and the battery percent mod through bootstrap... and I see both are based off 198_7... so I assume I need to flash this before trying those, right? Or am I missing something else I need to know?

TIA.

You would do this after you flash this ROM? Say someone coming from Joker's CM9 and wanted to go back to stock? Probably could also flash the nandroid of the stock I'm sure I took before messing with anything
