There's a new RIL that should resolve all issues with old RAPH/DIAM's. Data, the works! Let me know if it works for everyone. This latest RIL is from schteve, who enabled data functionality on older radios based on hyc's work.
Without further rambling, here's how to install it:
Take the .zip that's attached and extract it to your SD card - either the root of the card, or in a folder, just note where you put it. You should have one file, libhtcgeneric-ril.so.
Go to your froyo.user.conf file (in the conf directory where you run HaRET.exe from to start FRX07...) Edit this file, preferably with Notepad++ (regular Notepad in Windows will make the lines a big jumble...)
In the CustomCommands section, put this command:
Code:
mount --bind /sdcard/libhtcgeneric-ril.so /system/lib/libhtcgeneric-ril.so
Boot!
If the editing the froyo.user.conf file is daunting, I've also attached one. Please change the filename from froyo.user.conf.txt to froyo.user.conf.
Both the command above, and the one I've attached assumes you have placed the libhtcgeneric-ril.so file is a the root of your SD card - no folders. Change the /sdcard/ side to /sdcard/mods/libhtcgeneric-ril.so if you have it in a folder called 'mods' which is at the root of the SD.
Alrighty folks! Let me know how it goes. I don't have data on my tester phone, so hopefully that works - also let me know if you can get a location using netloc (not GPS or wifi location, cell-tower location...) in Google Maps or something else that supports it. Please report any other issues related as well...
Edit - and MMS! Let me know if that works now as well... probably will need to enter in APN info in order to send.
Arrrghhh,
Downloaded and I will try it ASAP my battery is charged again.
Arrrghhh Thanks again for all your patient and time you give to this, even I own a DroidX since December I want to gift my HTC Diam500 CDMA to my niece (but you know today Kids, if it is not an iphone or Android they will not use it, LOL).
I have read the @Hyc(highlandsun) comment in Diam500 CDMA Thread and I understand the situation, Thanks again, really apreciate your effort.
P.S: Maybe you need to promote/publicity more this Thread, I end here thanks to @Starfox and @Hyc.
I have a HTC Diamond 500 CDMA from Sprint
and the ACTUAL FROYO FRX07 (15 July 2011) LIST of Roofts, initrd, zImage, module and System-ext2 COMBINATION that I'm testing with my HTC Diamond CDMA is:
2.- I USE THIS ROOTFS (with the NEW RIL) Rootfs-20110721-258e98b.zip (21-July-2011) at First boot up (with clean data-img and erase Android folders) it appear the "OOps smd-tts mismatch" Loop but after a minute or two it appear the Xandroid boot Animation. This time the video doesn't freze or is eratic at all!!!!!!!!!! and after the long "data.img" re-creation (5-7 minutes) it bootup OK. NO lockscreen this time so I can start using it without a problem Rootfs-20110721-258e98b.zip
5.- and Of course using this BETA FIX for CMDA phones (please use the "mods" folder to place your file so everyone is in the same channel.
So the XDAndroid folders are in /sdcard/andboot/
and the mod RIL goes here in /sdcard/andboot/mods/
the "config file" goes in /sdcard/andboot/conf/
** NOTE: ** I attached the "froyo.user.conf.txt" file with the new folder address
just remmeber to erase the ".txt" extension and copy this one to /sdcard/andboot/conf/
[HR]
ExTRAs:
If someone have a problem with the
1.- "TS-calibration" file or seting it (at boot time) I will attach the file you can use (decompress files and copy in the same directory where Roofts&Kernel are)
2.- "Startup.txt" File (this one basically set the directory to "andboot", fix screen orientation and fix a SOD bug when weakup the phone) In this post is the Attachement file for the extras (you need to uncompress it an replace the files)

Arrrghhh,
So FAR works fine but a little bit slow (some FC, no reboots). Slow as I have noticed weeks ago with July 21th RootFS
Wait!!!! what things do we need to test it???
As I have said RootFS July 24th, 26th and 27th are more fast but they are more hard to by pass the Loop error message.
And As I have said RootFS July 16th after it bootup and passed the XDAndroid bootanimation, it load ándroid but it is not UNlockeable the "Lock Screen".
By the way I neither had line in my HTC,
1.- but I have test enter to "network operator" (at Wireless setting) and know it don't FC anymore.
2.- Audio is NOW working (at least ringtones)
3.- Not one SOD,
4.- neither no problem at all to unlock it.
5.-Wifi works fine (enable, disconecting and reconecting)
update: WIFI is very slow, I'm less than 2 meter from the antena
6.- Google Maps can't locate the position with the wifi antena (as in my DroidX) but I guess it will do with the CDMA antenas (aGPS).
7.- GPS antena works really fast (more fast than in Windows without QuickGPS.
8.- As Hyc said, It still appear the loop error message but after one-two minutes the XDAndroid bootanimation starts.
Ok so this combination is working but it is more more Slow than FRx06.
Please Arrghhh let me know what else do you want to be test.
I have to go to work now so I will come back upto night.
Have a nice day!!!!

I already mentioned what I changed in the first post - the only thing was adding the RIL, and using the 0622 kernel (linked in the first post).
I'm on the newest rootfs and FRX07. Phone is screamin' fast, but this thing has no service (so it'll connect to the towers, but data will never work). So maybe I'm not a great test case... for me, it's just as fast as 06, if not faster.

Sprint Touch Diamond. Same setup. Same results. Incoming and outgoing calls look to work.
Added Android/internet APN and restarted. Still no data.

You should have data tho, right? As in you're paying for data? The phone I'm testing on doesn't have service (at all) so it'll never connect to data.
Did you make sure the APN was "selected"? APN should have a radio button next to it that's filled green (not "empty"/gray).
Might have to do some advanced troubleshooting with you at some point. If you get a few hours of free time, hop on IRC (#xdandroid on Freenode) and hopefully someone will be on to help...
Thanks arrrghhh, Bell Diam500, the phone service works, no data. data icons (e.g. 3G, Evdo) don't show up. the android doesn't even say that I'm on Bell. it used to show "BELL" with FRX06). android is def faster than FRX06.
I tried to enter different APN's i found online, but as soon as I change MCC or MNC, android doesn't save the APN.

Can you tell me what values you're using?
What does the service say? Should say "XDAndroid" now for your service carrier instead of your normal carrier.
