Silent Triumph Startup and Shutdown

If I deleted the sounds off of the phone, I'd get some weird side effects... the startup would play some random sound, and the shutdown would end up rebooting instead of shutting down, so I made mp3's with just silence. They are attached below.

the two paths are:

/hidden/data/Power-on sound/VMU_Power_up.mp3
/system/media/audio/ui/VMU_Power_Down_48_24.mp3

ive never tried silent boot since i heard it doesnt work for shutdown... or there was some trick with silencing your phone first before shutting down then turning the ringer back on when you boot back up

What the Silent Boot app does is just turn the phone to silent mode when you turn it off, and then turns off silent mode once you boot into Android again. This works fine, unless you do not shutdown properly (phone freezes, battery pulled), in which case the sounds will still play.

Thanks for this! Now i can use my phone is silence... ahh.

On the same note, can we delete or alter the power up and power off animation too?

EDIT:
Actually, the start-up sound is still there, while the shut down is silent. What could be wrong? I've put everything in the correct place.

Did you just rename the old files .old? I did this and it still played my start up sound. Once I moved the .old file elsewhere, it no longer played the sounds.
