Whoa really? Is this Owain's that I've seen referenced? I was excited by the new baseband, thinking it was a precursor to ICS (foolish me to ever believe LG would be so kind), and have been running stock rooted ever since, regretting the update.
Thank you so much! I love the ICS ROMs out there (particularly EB's AOSP), but this was still the smoothest, fastest, most stable ROM I've ever flashed. I'm happy to go back to it.

Yea is owains zip i would have gave you a link to his op where its from but had it on my dropbox already
I flashed the zip and when I tried to make a call there was no ring or anything from the receiver, flashing my backup back and hope I didn't do anything serious to the phone.
