Default Set Your Battery to PERFORMANCE?

Yesterday, after complaining on Sprints Facebook page about the issues I was having with my Photon, I received an email, unsigned from someone who advised me to change the "battery mode" to PERFORMANCE rather than the stock setting.

I was further advised that the stock setting is interfering with the the phone is a number of ways and that this was being rectified in a software update coming soon.

The one thing I noticed immediately was the speed and smoothness of sailing through the applications, the smoothness of scrolling everywhere including the internet. I even changed it back, rebooted and could immediately tell the difference...on my phone at least.

If you haven't tried it, give it a go just for laughs and chuckles and see if it appears to do anything positive for you?

Perhaps this is why I've had a great experience from the get-go, I set my phone to Performance right out of the box. I've done this on every electronic device that I own immediately at purchase because I know for a fact the power management features put in place by the manufacturer on just about any product seem to be poorly developed. I would rather just crank the performance wide open and manage my battery savings myself.

Isn't performance mode only to allow syncing of apps at all times? Where did you guys get this info that performance makes everything great?

I changed mine within the 1st 5 mins of getting it and havent ever had any issue aside from the silent phone calls occasionally.

Did it help with the silent phone calls? I have had mine on Maximum Battery Saver from the beginning so I wonder if performance will help. Switching now so I will see shortly.

I agree. If you click the "i" button near Performance Mode it just says, "Phone syncs without restrictions throughout the day." There seems to be a placebo effect.

Yes but then again in regards to software "feature".... what they say it does vs what it really does is the nature of bugs

In the end, it did nothing to fix the call or lockup issues.
