Rom size is huge because of additional stuff. This stuff gets written on the SD Card,and they do not slow down the system at ALL.

HOW-TO INSTALL ROM
Phase 1(TWRP/CWM Only):
0.You must check if you have root permissions.
FOR 2.2: Download z4Root from SlideME Marketplace,click on "permanent root" and you're done.
FOR 2.2.1/2.2.2: Use this howto.
FOR 2.3.3:Use this howto.
1.You must check if you have an installed recovery. Check
this thread.
2.Just download ROM by clicking on the link above.
3.Boot in recovery by turning on phone with VolDown key + Home + Power button pressed.
4.Go to Advanced>Partition SD Card -
MAKE BACKUP FIRST!
512 EXT(Do not create it if you do not want a2sd)
0 Swap
Remainder FAT32
5.Go into the main recovery menu and select "wipe data/factory reset"
6.Go to Mounts and storage>format /system
7.Go into the main recovery menu and select "install zip from sdcard"
8.Select "choose zip from sdcard"
9.Select update-openOptimus-build-X.XXX-thunderg-ciaox-signed.zip (X.XXX are the build numbers)
10.Go into main recovery menu and select "reboot system now"
11.Wait at least 4-5 minutes,first boot may take a while,don't panic.
12.Android will say "Force close of settings.apk,don't worry,just follow phase 2.
Phase 2(FOLLOW ONLY IF HAVING OLD BASEBAND):
0.Download LGMDP tool + new baseband from download section.
1.Download 7-zip from the download section and install it.
2.Extract P500-baseband-V20G.zip (right click on file-7zip-extract here)
3.Download LG Drivers from the download section and run the downloaded exe file.
4.Click on "install usb drivers" and from phone models list double click on "LGP500"
5.It will ask you to install them. Just say ok.
6.Download Msxml.msi from download section and install it
7.Reboot your PC
8.Connect your phone and DO NOT activate usb archive
9.Go to Start menu and right click on "My computer",then click "Manage".
10.Click on "Device manager",expand "Modems" and right click "LGE Virtual Modem".
11.Click on "Disable".
12.Run LGMDP-v1.5.exe from the extracted folder
13.Click on download,select port.
14.Click on connect button
15.Click on Image folder button and a window will open. Just navigate to the extracted folder.
16.Also new windows will open,just click ok.
17.Close the window
18.Click on download button

Q: How can I install the ROM?
A: Follow this post.
Q: Can I install this ROM with AmonRa(aka thunderg) Recovery?
A: No. You can't install it via AmonRa Recovery,only ClockworkMod Recovery is supported. Download it here .
Q: How can I correctly a2sd?
A: Download this . Then download a2sdGUI from the Market,and tap on "Apps are on internal storage". Then open Terminal Emulator and give su and a2sd cachesd .
Q: My phone doesn't boot after flashing the ROM.
A: Reflash it and be sure to have ClockworkMod Recovery and be sure to wipe all. If the problem persists,remove the battery and restart the phone.
Q: A2SD/Data2SD doesn't work/phone doesn't boot after flashing it.
A: Make sure to have a class4 SDCard or higher. Also,flash only stable builds of these scripts(Not betas!)
Q: How can I start openScript?

Q: My phone is stuck on the Android boot screen after flashing a new theme.

Launch Terminal emulator
Write su and press enter
A window will pop up,you'll have to tap on allow
Then write menu and press enter
