Default [Q] Who noticed big 4G speed increase after VS910ZV6 update?

After this update, i did my routine SpeedTest run and noticed a huge increase in speeds. Before this i would rarely get anywhere near 15Mb/s, but now in some areas i can get get speeds of 40MB/s! Its finally as fast as my Thunderbolt was. Just wondering if anyone else noticed this?

Default Speedtest.net app?

Woah!!! Seriously??? 40 Mb (Megabits) per second, download???

Are you using the Speedtest.net app or through a phone Browser that allows desktop mode. Or are you tethered to a PC? Speedtest.net or Speakeasy? A different speedtest site?

I would try all of the above to somewhat confirm your speeds.

I only noticed that to certain servers in the speedtest.net app that it would actually go above 3.5 Mbps. My best through my app was 12Mbps only to one of the nearby servers. Through dolphin or opera browser (in desktop mode) the servers that would only go to 3.5 actually went to around 8Mbps. Also in general Speakeasy has been giving me faster speeds than speedtest.net.

I don't believe there was a change for my speeds except for in the speedtest.net app.

I'm using the ookla Speedtest.net app. I tried it in the browser, got 28MB/s, that's with a server that was way far away from my location. Cant test while tethering, i have no root.

Surprisingly i was able to take a screenshot even after the update broke my root.

Running the new rom that has the update in it. Revolt Rom 1.0

Not seeing any increase whatsoever in speed, perhaps maybe even a bit slower. But that may have something to do with the really bad weather here in Rochester, it's affected data in the past.

Spokane Wa, about 2 miles from the airport. That place is the fastest, it consistently pulls 40mb/s down, other places in town around 20-30 down. I actually can't see the tower bit it is full bars.

Yeah the look on my iPhone toting friend's faces is priceless when I show them how the speedtest app maxes out the gauge.

PDA NET app is available in the market again, if you are interested in USB Tethering to a PC or Mac.
