[Q] modem.bin sources?

Hi,

I'm a newbie in here and to android, trying to learn and search for info and I have a few questions which I didn't find any answers yet:

1) does anyone have sources to any of the modems?
2) if not, is there any decompilation of any of these modems around?
3) Other than switching the modem.bin is it possible to do anything more intelligent with them?
4)Does anyone know what chip/processor actually runs these files and how are they being bootloaded to these chips?
5)Iv'e seen some AT commands (with now actual explanation of what does each), other than that is there any API to the modems?

Any pointers to links and info I missed are very appreciated,
and excuse me if they seem like silly questions...

Usefull link, thanks but i was reffering to sorce code or decompilation of any of these modems and not to the bin dumps
