Default Virtuous Unity Q&A

As some of you have come from the captivate know what I did there with Rom Q&A threads. I am doing the same here. In an effort to clean up the site. All Rom related question shall from now on be posted in the proper Q&A or will be deleted on sight.

I just flashed this ROM (version 1.31.0) and have to say I'm pretty happy far.

My only questions so far are, should I flash a different kernal or wait for the next release? Is there a preferred radio? And I'm having issues getting the 5 signal bar mod to work correctly. I downloaded the updated one that should show H and H+ depending on signal but it doesn't work. I do get a 5 signal bar from the mod but that's all. I miss my downloading/uploading H+ symbol.

Does anyone happen to have a circular percentage battery for this version only with the green dotted line that changes colors from blue to red as it goes down? I could only find a green one.

Thanks.

Edit : The signal bar started working correctly.

Edit 2 : I figured out that the signal bar doesn't show 3G, E, or H+ any time WiFi is on.

Flashing a different kernel is entirely up to you. The included kernel works very well. There is a circle battery mod add on like the one you are asking about is somewhere in one of the posts. If I happen to come across it I will edit the post to include it. As always should be done, make a back up before flashing any new mod.

I'll probably give the kernel a try. Should I use v3 or v4? There were a bunch of battery ones for an older version but I haven't seen one that has the dotted line circle that changes color as well. Really liking the ROM so far.

I had weird issues with V4. So did a couple of others. V3 Seemed to work better for us. Also I just remembered that the framework was changed in the latest version, so a lot of the previous mods will not work or will change some things and may cause problems. Make sure any mods you flash are recent. That battery mod may have to be re made again.

Alrighty I'll try v3. I have been trying recent ones, I appreciate the warning still.

I'll be flashing this ROM tomorrow I believe. I'm doing a little research about the radios right now. According to install instructions for this rom the preferred radio is 12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2. I see something EXTREMELY similar in the radio thread but it's listed as 12.54.60.25x_26.09.04.11_M2. Note the "x."

This "x" version is listed as a release for the Desire, whereas I will be installing this on the AT&T Inspire. Should I be worried about either the "x" or the Desire release?

To further clarify: I will be rooting an AT&T HTC Inspire 4G with attn1's latest ace_hack kit, and plan to then flash the Virtuous Unity 1.31 ROM. I would very much appreciate any help or guidance any one else could choose to offer.

That radio is the same. Don't worry if it is a Desire radio. A lot of them work very well for the Inspire. Radios are subjective though. What works for me in my area may not work well for you and where you live. You really have to test it out for yourself. When you install a new radio and Ril let it settle for at least a week to determine how the performance is. I have had good success with that radio and ril and also with the ATT radios and Rils.

Sense stock apps (like gallery) and widgets (like Favs Contacts) show distorted thumbnails like an old black & white TV.

I installed the 3D Gallery, and it shows them correctly.
