this isn't an issue of a sim lock, which unlock codes are generally good for. This is an issue of the photons gsm radio being blocked from using domestic US gsm service. There are other threads where people have used unlocking services (after being told it wouldn't work) and found out that in fact...it did not work.

I remember I had to do the hack on Droid2 Global to allow US Bands and I was hoping someone would or could do the same for Photon where you just change couple of hex entries and your radio is ready for AT&T.

So, you are saying that there is nobody at this point trying to look into the current radio to see what exactly is blocking US Bands? I have no experience with radios but tethering and google talk over 3g are just basically db entries or flags that can be flipped. Can we not isntall the Motorola Electrify's radio since they are essentially the same devices?

sure, i wont be the one to test it. any idea on how to pull the modem file off the electrify? and then figure out a way to flash it?
