Doesn't help when the phone came out basicaly as a legacy device. Samsung and Verizon dropped the ball on a good device and wasted their and our time with this one. Why release a device with ZERO support? Thats like buying a car and never changing the oil...bound for failure. KTHXBAI Scamsung.

Also as weird as it sounds this phone being in the legacy section is its saving grace. Everyone in this forum is just nice and not rude at all. In the newer devices threads its just become a big flaming contest.

This doesnt suprise me.

However from what I have seen this place offers much more support for this phone then verizon ever did.

The froyo rom breathed life into this phone, and I wont be suprised if the great folks here deliver us a gingerbread update at some point.

end of life doesnt mean that support for a device ends (well the continuum never had support)

eol just means it wont be sold anymore

the original droid went eol and received two more ota's afterwards

frankly im surprised that the fascinate and continuum didnt go eol sooner. must just have been because of a higher amount of stock

the fascinates finally got pushed id imagine by the amount of returned fascinates during the missed call debacle up to last month

based on sales alone though (i dont have hard figures) the fascinate was 1 of the top 5 selling android phones during its run of september to present (which surprised me) but the continuum was a commerical disappoint at best which might explain why verizon hasnt cared to actually push forth froyo for it (seems punitive but there is little to base the lack of an update on otherwise)
