Default Pulse News app DATA overload

So, I regularly use the Pulse News app to aggregate all the websites I care about. This morning however, over the span of 2 hours, it somehow used up 4gigs of data. Doing what? No effing clue. I don't think it's even possible to reach those kinds of speeds on the H+ network. Has this happened to snyone else? And how can it be fixed?

Hmm...did a little math and that would mean you sustained an average download speed of about 5 mbps for 2 hours. IDK how Bell is with their speeds but where I live, I can't get above about 2.5 mbps on at&t. But even if the speed is possible, not sure what it could download for 4Gig. It usually only downloads headlines and a thumbnail sized picture.

That being said, I stopped using Pulse after about a week when I found it was using a LOT of battery in the background. I prefer a more basic RSS reader that is more efficient, even if its not as pretty.

IDK what the Bell network can support speed wise but 5 mbps seems ok. Regardless i've limited the ammont of data Pulse can download.

It is kind of a battery hog but it's pretty and fairly easy to use.

Thanks for the input.
