Default [Q] Wi-Fi Failure

So I tried connecting to my wifi today and my Shift stalls out at the obtaining IP address from router portion. Any fixes for this?

Try setting up a static ip adress. Run command prompt as administrator on a computer on the same network and type in ipconfig. You can use the info from that to set it up

Are you on a custom ROM or kernel? If so, which one? Have you verified it's not the router's problem? You tried resetting it first, right?

I'm actually running a stock Shift, stupid OTA GB update, anyway it seems that after a couple resets and forgetting the network a few times it works now, but thanks for the willingness to help!

the GB stock is very unstable.... ive had CONSTANT CRASHES... after every app i close the nice lovely white screen with green HTC pops up. its highly annoying. i just pray they perm root this or im updating. the Wifi is very picky. some days it works and others it dont.

The reason your having these issues is because on GB the Memory values are too aggressive. You could try V6 SuperCharger to change the memory values. I have used it in the past with great results.

Last i checked or thought..... that was more towards the rooted phones. i could be wrong. but something like that i would assume it would be for rooted. and you cant perm root 2.3.3 which i doubt will be any time soon...

You can temp root. Which will better than being dealing with the stock OTA BS. It will at least give you more options.
