I find that the Body Glove is perfect. It adds barely any bulk, it protects the phone (I've dropped it a ton of times and even thrown it with no damage to show for it), and the amount of grip that it gives is perfect. It never slips out of my hand, but yet it comes out of my pocket completely smoothly. Definitely go with that.

My defender doesn't block anything. You should have returned that s defective

Sorry wasn't too clear on the defender. I tend to use it one handed and with the way I type my thumbnail tends to hit the front of the case so it would take a couple tries before the skin of my finger hits the capacitive buttons. Only other reason I currently not using it is the outer shell. Pulling it out of a pocket while sitting down is a bit difficult.

I gotcha now. And concur with pocket removal. Luckily I've mastered exactly where to hit it on the capacative buttons

Currently using a Capdase Soft Jacket 2 Xpose. It's slim and fits well, and is not really in the way of the screen. Adds a little bit the thickness to the phone which I actually prefer.
