[Q] SMS and Phone sharing from Android?

Is there or do you think it would be possible to send SMS messages or call like you can with other WebOS phones?

SMS, maybe, but I don't believe there is anything inside of this that will allow over-the-air calls outside of Wifi + Skype (or something similar).

well under the message app it says if you have a webOS phone you can bt it and send one but I couldn't by my evo it sucked

If Mightydesk can do SMS via the browser, then I'm sure it can be implemented.

Calling can be implemented easily using the Bluetooth headset profile.

any Motorola phone with PhonePortal can do this. I send and receive text messages from my atrix 4G on my touchpad

What about a Htc phone ?

I would also be interested in doing this from my android phone!

so has anyone managed this? Would love this for my desire. I can tether but that's diffrrent.

that's what I'm going to setup when I get home from work today. DeskSMS, besides forwarding texts to Gmail, can also forward them to Gtalk, which WebOS' messenger app supports. So it should (in theory) work nicely
