Wink One click direct root tool for Milestone2 Gingerbread

The tool is from http://vulnfactory.org/blog/2011/08/...g-the-droid-3/

Tested on Milestone2 Gingerbread.

Attention:
This direct root method will mess your /data. So please backup data before trying this,if you want to keep data.


[How to]
1.Connect your phone to PC with USB debugging ON
2.extract rootd3.zip on your PC ( no special character in path )
3.run RootD3.cmd(english) or RootD3_zhCN.cmd(chinese)
4.your phone will reboot for 3 times during the whole process
5.Done and rooted.

Very nice! Have you read the commands int RootD3.cmd? It looks like a trivial exploit I'm sure google is going to fix that on next version.

it doesn't work on my phone, i can't root my milestone 2.



i have this return :

failed to copy 'superuser.apk' to '/system/app/superuser.apk': Read-only file system
Unable to chmod /system/app/superuser.apk: No such file or directory

You should be good to go after this reboot
Do you have any idea on what was wrong ?

Have you tried new version of SuperOneClick?

mine is rooted with this one SuperOneClick, first try it dont root, but when i try again with RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR, work fine!

Are you on official gingerbread or on froyo?

Or perhaps try run as admin
