[DISCUSSION] HP Touchpad only uses ONE of TWO cores
I apologize in advance for lack of info for my claim:
I have a good friend in the QA dept of the HP Touchpad. I gave me two Touchpads and a bunch of info on the device that was not supposed to be known.
He told me, this touchpad is ONLY running ONE core. He said in the future they were going to do an OS update and enable BOTH cores. He gave m this info once it was confirmed that the PC dept of HP will no longer exist for end-users.
Can anyone confirm and possibly get the second core to function?
Another thing, turns out the guy that has been on websites that claims he has the Froyo version for the HP Tablets working and running made people at HP laugh because my QA friends say he currently has the Gingerbread version working fully on the HP Tablet internally. It should be released soon says friend at HP.
Also my version of HP Tablet OS is 3.0.3 which no one has. I know very little about scripting or pulling ROMS or data from devices but if you want the code from my version, let me know how I can help. I would like to get both Qualcom cores running to see actual performance.
EDIT:
I just read that someone was able to get the second core to work on 3.0.2 using an overclock method but no one has heard of 3.0.3 to modify the kernel for dual-core support
