[Q] Odin USB not recognising Galaxy S in Download mode
I don't think this is my phone's fault.
It's running Darky ROM, but gets stuck in the boot showing the glowing S logo, but goes no further. I can get into recovery mode, and when I clear cache and restore factory settings it boots once, but then on subsequent boots gets stuck again. The ROM is probably broken.
I'm attempting to flash back to a stock ROM, but Odin is not recognizing the phone when I plug it in in download mode. I can get to download mode just fine, but nothing happens when I plug it in. I've tried different USB ports, pulling battery and every other suggestion that Google has scraped off the web.
I'm running Win7 64 bit.
I think the problem is USB drivers. Is there a way for me to clear out all auto installed USB drivers and start from scratch? Are there any driver packs that I need? What can I do to diagnose the USB drives that are installed? USB device driver installation has always been a cross finger voodoo thing for me. Plug in the device, hope it works. Because it usually does, I've never delved into the mysterious workings of the USB driver world. Now it seems I have to. Any help getting Odin to work would be highly appreciated.
