[Q] Canada vs. US thrive difference?

I am in Canada on business and just picked up a thrive, I have been drooling over the damn thing for a few weeks now. HDMI port, GPS sensor sold me. I live in the US, and wondering, are they the exact hardware, or should I swap the puppy out when I get back to the states?
Also, verision is 3.1.03.5.0003 if that matters. Also, not rooted yet as I do for all my android devices, as I have to do more homework about this sleep of death thing.

Hardware wise they are the same. OS wise they are not. You will need to root and install the 0032 OS load to have it up to date.

Thanks, I am actually checking out the root right now, might as well flash the ROM too as soon as I can find a image online.
