Hi.. I got my photon yesterday.. using it in India, interested only in the gsm mode anyway

today i tried to unlock bootloader, root and install a custom rom (rocko 1.1) but I am stuck at the recovery flashing step (via fastboot) here is a list of steps followed:

  • Start RSD lite 5.6 (C:\Root-Unlock-Relock\rsd\RSD.exe)
  • Select the 198_7 SBF and flash it (Root-Unlock-Relock\rsd\SBF's\)
  • After rebooting goto menu/settings/applications/development and enable usb debugging
  • Run shabby's AIO root (C:\Root-Unlock-Relock\AIO Root\root.bat)
  • Disconnect phone from the computer
  • Start RSD lite (C:\Root-Unlock-Relock\rsd\RSD.exe)
  • Reboot phone into RSD mode (power+vol down)
  • Flash durpunlock.sbf
  • reboot
  • Reboot phone into fastboot mode
  • Open command prompt in the moto-fastboot folder :
  • moto-fastboot devices
    device is detected
  • moto-fastboot erase recovery
Fails: Error says some number: 10080001
  • moto-fastboot flash recovery recovery-red-photon3.img
Fails: Error says some number: 10080002
  • moto-fastboot reboot

after this, the CWM recovery isnt flashed, and hence if i fastboot and try to enter android recovery, i get to see a triangle and nothing else !!! So the recovery is not flashing and thus my step stops here. How to continue further ?

How do i know tht the phone has been unlocked for sure and where exactly is the process going wrong ? I tried it repeatedly 3 times and all the time ended with same unsuccessful result ! Plz help me guys

coming from a samsung fascinate, this whole things looks cumbersome to me and still wanna try loading a custom rom to my liking ! plz help

Default How to Flash Stock Rom on Motorola Photon

I am faced with a peculiar situation where I am unable to Factory Reset my Motorola Photon. Whenever, I try to reset it wipes data & settings upto May 12, 2012. It would not delete/wipe anything prior to that date.

I have tried the following
1. Factory Reset method in the Settings-->Privacy
2. Android Recovery Method
3. Formatting internal storage

But still the handset returns to the state as it was on May 12, 2012. It has the call logs, data, apps updates etc. as on May 12, 2012. Everything after that stands deleted.

Also noticed that whenever I power off my device it returns to the May 12,2012 state.

It seems something like everything prior to May 12, is permanent and could not be wiped. While everything post May 12 is temporary which is wiped out if the device is powered off.

I think the next best alternative is to flash the Stock ROM. Where can i find it and how to go about doing step by step guide will be helpful.

I am not rooted and would like to remain that way along with the original Stock ROM.

Can someone guide me.

Thx
