It appears as if some of those fixes are in 5.5.891 that was found. I know p3 droid is on it but I won't flash it unless I can at least get root. Not being able to fxz scares me too

It appears that this has gone nowhere. The only active thread (somewhat) is the cheesecake research thread. Even there, nothing. It is a game to Moto, they hold your interest, give false hope (think they don't know the server trick by now or leave it open to BEGIN WITH just to fool around?). Photon unlocked? Sure, lost 4G and don't care if it was fixed but "Unlocked" without 4G. Horrible network, not TRUE 4G anyway. Then ATT Atrix unlocked? Horrible network, and meaningless. Those are two crumbs to keep us hanging on for hope. I say we all avoid Moto unless they unlock them NOW and never release unlocked phones again. HTC moved out of the experiment of locking I believe or MET IN THE MIDDLE I guess. Samsung releases KERNEL SOURCES, lol and leave it unlocked I believe. MAYBE it is national security? They need to keep the hardware locked as to avoid people finding the nice hardware bugs and MAYBE controlling them? Random thought there.

Anyway, done with Moto, waited around, hoped, but this is an f-ing joke. Stock/deodexed almost always wins out over what devs CAN DO anyway. Like with battery life and some devs I wonder if they are just cooking up bugs themselves. Done with the rant, and likely done with Moto for good.

... and around two hours after you posted this, Motorola released source code for the Bionic. It's not a bootloader unlock, to be sure, but it's a sign that we're not "going nowhere".

I understand your frustration with the bootloader, but posts like yours above are just a downer and needless hand-wringing for those of us loving the Bionic, ROM development, and the community here. Don't give up on us yet! (and if you do, there's no need to post about it )

Totally agree here. It's not like this forum is for the every-guy who uses his Bionic stock out-of-box style. It's a forum devoted to developers and the work they do for Christ Snakes.

Frustration is totally understandable, but there are other great forums out there like AC and DL that cater to a different but still similar crowd.
Current:
Samsung Galaxy Nexus | LiquidROM | Trinity Kernel
SGS3 Bootloader = Fail

Retirees:
Blackberry Curve < iPhone, 3G, 3GS & 4 < Samsung Vibrant < Droid X < Droid Incredible < iPhone 4 (again?) < HTC Inspire FauxG < Moto Atrix FauxG < iPhone 4 (again!?!) < iPhone 4S No, I resisted the urge! < Droid Bionic < iPhone 4S (shut up...)

DONATE TO ME
I here love my bionic, and have no plans on leaving. Sure the RAZR has a .2ghz faster CPU per core (more battery) and a better screen (more battery again compared to pentile...) but the bionic not only seems to be a solid built phone, but if the community stays loyal, it has the chance of being a modding beast! I am just waiting for cyanogenmod personally. Stock OS sucks, and a AOSP non blurr would make my life, and this phone. Why im jelous of my friends motorola triumph.... so stock, so clean, so fast.

Oh. Ok. Hmm.. How does one explain HTC? Nexus Prime? LG? Xperia? All of which are unlocked bootloaders. And all of which are on VZW. Moto could unlock it. They are hiding behide the facade of "VZW won't let them."

Hopefully Google's aquisition is approved and finalized so Google can punch Moto in the pee-pee and unlock the bootloader. At least removing bloat. Even if they do the later, that will make a world of difference for a lot of people. True, not as many as unlocking the damn bootloader alltogether. But still...

Just my $.02. But we all know it's really less than $.01 here. Lmao!
