Did you also try not to use the power button to power off the phone?
I also had a lot of forced closes using monster kernel and the last rom. Then I read somewhere that it helped to just remove the battery instead of using the power button.
But I don't remember where I read it. Maybe it wasn't even in the duckly kernel forum or last rom. I only know, I don't have any forced closes anymore.
