Default [Q] Full 1GB of ram?

I have looked around a few forums looking for an answer to this question but i have not been able to find a definite answer.

According to the running services page on my DROID bionic my device currently only has 684mb of RAM acessable by the android OS. I am wondering why it would be that the system memory is hovering around such a low level when my previous android phones (devour and DROID 2) had almost all memory shown in this menu. So I am curious about weather or not I either have a phone that isn't working properly or more likely it is reserved for something else such as WebTop?

All of that RAM is for apps. The rest of it are distributed various places, the OS itself, video RAM, etc.

Similar to on Windows, when you have 4GB and no apps open, Windows is still using 25-30% of your RAM. The rest of it is that 684MB you see.

Retired: Motorola Droid, HTC Droid Incredible, VZW iPhone 4 Black 16GB, HTC Droid Incredible 2, Motorola Droid Bionic, HTC Rezound, Verizon Galaxy Nexus, VZW iPhone 5 Black 32GB
Current phone: HTC Droid DNA, S-OFF, Viper 1.2
