Default extended battery misprint

I purchased the Bionic extended battery from verizon dot com. I'm sure you all know that the battery on verizon is 2880 mAh. I just recieved it nice and quick 2nd day free shipping pretty cool. When I looked at the box it had on it 2760 mAh. So looks like theres some kind of typo on verizons website. As far as I know theres only one OEM extended battery for the droid, I dont think they sent me the wrong battery. I'm on the phne now with verizon, I let you guys know what the say. BTW I've been on the Phone now with them for about 32 min. Its so funny the rep that I'm speaking to now is very green.

Yes, rounding: the process of replacing a number by another number of approximately the same value but having fewer (significant) digits.

Hence 76 becomes 80, 760 becomes 800, and 2760 becomes 2800

And, btw, I'm asking what they told you, if they told you anything. Seeing as this battery is an approximately 60% increase over the stock battery, The $24.99 price on vzw made it worth it - but in the long run, will it actually give us a 60% increase in battery life?

Except it was supposed to be 2880, not 2800.

As for the actual number, probably just a typo.

I bought the first extended battery Thursday, day 1. 2760 ma. For 50% off making it $25. Yesterday i bought another one for 50% off as well. We have 2 bionics. I see a major difference in battery life. I was running out before in 10 hours of my use and now going all day and sometimes showing 40-50%

heres the deal, its a typo ffor sure. The batt is a 2760 no matter what, I can see it maybe rounding up to 2800 maybe. But Verizon is saying its 2880, So if it really was a 2880 wouldnt they be rounding it up to 2900. Anyways the should say what it is if verizon are selling a 2880 then thats what they should send. They made a mistake and mis quoted the battery. Heres the other messed up thing that they did. Because I get a corprate discount of 17%, When I logged in to get the extended batt it took the 17 % instead of the 50 % that everyone else was getting. So verizon credited the difference to me and that made me happy. But the did mess up, Wouldnt be the first and surly wont be the last.

I agree that the mAh reported is incorrect, and should be corrected. I actually had misread your OP to say 2800, not 2880 - so, yeah, it's mind boggling where they got the info from....

As for the corp discount - you were supposed to log out and then order the battery so that the 50% would kick in.

I have a 25% corp disc and that's all I was getting until I logged out and then ordered the battery.

At least they took care of you after the fact, though.

Where is everyone getting these extended batteries for $25? I just called my Verizon store and they are selling for $49! I told the guy i thought they were on sale for $25. He said no way! He said the bionic has only been out a short while so no sales yet.

Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App

online at verizonwireless.com Do a search for MotBioBatX. It initially shows up as $49.99

Someone reported that some locales are showing that it is out of stock now, but I know of at least one person who just bought one about 2 hours ago....

If you have a corp discount on your account and you log in, it will only apply that discount. You need to log out, then go to buy the battery, and at checkout it should auto apply the 50% discount.
