[Q] Car Dock With OtterBox

I love using my Google maps for navigation and stuff, is their any recommended window or dash mount that will allow this with the bulky otterbox on there?

The one from Verizon won't. I have that one, and I have to take it out of the otterbox when I mount it. There ARE some universal type mounts which may work... Although it won't put it into car mode when docked like the VZW one will. Lemme see if I can't find the dock I'm talking about.

Throw it on the dash wish they made one for OtterBox but not going to happen

The standard car dock as a sleeve inside it that adds perhaps 1/16th or 3/32nd inch around the phone. The sleeve can be removed to accommodate phones with cases.

The Otterbox Defender is way too big to fit, but the Commuter might. I know Verizon doesn't offer the Commuter, or they didn't when I bought the phone, but you can get it from Otterbox themselves.

If you already have the Defender and intend to keep it, you may have to look for a generic dock or maybe just velcro it to a handy surface.

I use a Ram mount with my Atrix in a rugged case. Have to manually start up the dock app, but at least I'm not removing the case all the time. I'm not sure if the Bionic comes with Vlingo, but it also has a "car dock" type app, and will read you your text messages while in that mode.

Somebody else has a Honda Element.

Check out Arkon mounts too. I have one for my 7" HTC Flyer that can hold a Bionic in an otterbox. (portrait)

So can Bionic Dock (free) on the Android Market.
