[BUG-BRAINSTORM][TESTERS NEEDED] ssh over WiFi doesn't work with some kernels
Hi,
I've found a weird bug in some of the kernels: When using WiFi tethering, using ssh via WiFi tethering (to a server on the internet, not the phone) is not possible.
ssh with Connectbot on the phone itself works fine.
Trying to find what's causing this bug I experienced in several roms, I flashed some kernels to see what would happen. That's the result so far:
se.infra@SEI1S KH3 (not sure what that IS exactly, came with LeoMar ROM) - Doesn't work
ninphetamine 2.0.6 - Doesn't work
ninphetamine 2.1.3 - Doesn't work
RAGEmod U1-v1.1 - works
ninphetamine 2.0.2 - works
I'd say it's a bug in Samsungs Update2 which is causing this, but I can't be sure yet. Could you please test your kernel to see if it works for you, and report it to the thread?
I've set up an account for testing purposes:
ssh xda@the-compiler.org
Password: weloveandroid
If you see
Quote:
It works!
Connection to the-compiler.org closed.

after logging in, it works.
If it just hangs after typing in the password, it's broken.
Please report if it works, your kernel, and the ssh version you used (
ssh -V). Windows users, please test it using
PuTTY.
Maybe this helps seeing where the problem comes from, and then I'll go and read sourcecode.... Anyone who wants to help is more than welcome.
Florian
