Hi All,

I thought I would share the complete update I grabbed while my a500 was updating. Hopefully it will help those who are having OTA update issues. There is absolutely no modifications and this image is not rooted. the version numbers before and after the update are as follows.

Before Update

Model A500
Android Version 3.1
Kernel Version 2.6.36.3
Build Version Acer_A500_4.010.41_COM_GEN1

After Update

Model A500
Android Version 3.2
Kerner Version 2.6.36.3+
Build Version Acer_A500_7.006.01_COM_GEN1

Update File Name

Acer_A500_4.010.41_7.006.01_COM_GEN1

I take no responsibility for creating a brick if something goes wrong. May be a good idea to create a CWM backup prior to flashing.

I had rooted right out of the box and i regret doing it cuz i dont see a real reason to overclock when everything runs fine as is..

can i flash in cwm(power vol.-) or stock recovery (power vol.+)

thank you for this i wanted to unroot and go back to stock but every time i tried to update it said network coverage is poor please find a different location ..

Im on wifi so this made no sense so I hope this help and works ill wait to flash till i hear from you on what to do im a newbie on the acer.. so help is greatly appreciated thanks !

Yes and no,

You can flash with CWM however after downloading the archive you will need to extract it and only use the update.zip from within. You need to place the update on the EXTERNAL sd card for it to work. It is running great on my a500.

Make sure your version is running the same as the before I have posted in the OP. I don't know if it will make a difference but it might.

Ok yea before I rooted it wanted me to update to the ver. You had before you updated to your current build.

I wounder if you are correct about update to 3.1 then 3.2 cuz it definitely was trying to do the other build not the 3.2 unless that is new..

I hope that the update help fc'ings with some gameloft games asphalt 6 was downloaded while on 3.0.1 tried to play compatibility issue then used a501 rom and others all popular roms still didn't work...

Frustrating ..

Is there a way after I update to do a factory reset to delete every and start over .. everytime I try it just delete apps kinda all programs are still there though ex. I go to market after factory reset and it says open insted of install so the apps are hidden but still installed lol..

Sry for writing a book but I'm getting frustrated.

Winrar, winzip, and 7zip all give an error. Either the cheap file hosting is messed up, or the OP did. Oh well

odd... opens just fine on my ubuntu system using file-roller
