Default Little help with ATT phone

My bootloader is unlocked, I'm rooted. I'd really like to overclock my device. From what I've read, the kernal will not work with my phone. The hardware is the same just diff software. Is there anyway I can do this?

I'm a noob but can figure it to with a bit of help.

I have that as well. Helps with battery life. Without the doom kernal I don't think I can go over 1GHz though

DooM's kernel should work on all GSM versions of the Play.

Enter bootloader mode, and flash the new DooM kernel.
Power off your phone, hold the search button and plug it into you computer.
Open command prompt, and type the following
Fastboot.exe flash boot <filepath of DooM kernel>
Hit enter, then wait for it to flash.
Unplug your device, reboot, and enjoy the overclocking
