Default Slow data speeds is it worth exchanging the phone?

Well I like many of you on here are experancing horrendious data speeds and I don't seem to see any pattern to why some people have the problem and some people are just blazing along, so I am strongly considering taking the phone back to best buy and exchanging it for another E4GT tonight to see if that helps the problem.

Has anyone else tried to exchange their phone for another because of this problem? If so did it help or do you still have the same problem?

Also will Best Buy even let me bring mine in and exchange it for another on the spot over something like this? They said they have a couple in stock.

They may be back-hauling the network. Some days my data flies, some days its utterly useless.

For what it's worth, I just got off the phone with a sprint tech rep and received an e-ticket to take my E4GT in for repair. He said they would try to "manually calibrate" the radio to get a better signal. He said that sometimes new phones are calibrated months before release and that new phones may not be calibrated properly when changes are made to the tower system. The rep said they were back-hauling their towers for a "multi-mode" setup or something, and my E4GT may not be calibrated for the recent changes. We will see. My data speeds aren't terrible, but they are a whole lot worse than my 1 year old Epic 4g. I will report back after the "manual calibration." Overall, though, loving the upgrade ...

I have until next Saturday when my 14 days are up and I considered doing this as well. Replacing it for a new one.

I was having ridiculously slow 4g speeds speeds when I got the phone on launch day, but they have improved significantly. Do a prl update and such with it. Great phone!

Called sprint today for an exchange. Figure i might as well take advantage and try a new one and see if its any better. The phone really just needs a software update to fix these issues.

Did the exchange unit perform better on 3G?

all anyone needs to do is a 'data profile restore' you just need your device's MSL.
