Default [GUIDE] How to get Wifi Calling on T-Mobile Sensation 4g

This is a guide for those that are missing Wifi Calling. It seems that after getting s-off via revolutionary, the mid is change to PG58***** (at least for me). And I think that's the reason why the roms don't recognise that it's a T-Mobile Sensation 4g.

Flash the ENG Hboot by copying to the root of your sdcard and reboot into bootloader.

md5: 75e127836ff2421c3243977ffd625eef

After you flashed the file, reboot in to fastboot and run these commands.
Quote:
fastboot oem writecid T-MOB010
fastboot oem writemid PG5810000
fastboot reboot-bootloader
After it reboots, run these commands and check if it matches.
Quote:
fastboot getvar cid
fastboot getvar mid
After I flashed the hboot, I couldn't get pass the boot screen. So I wiped the device. You can just do factory rest in recovery or flash Super Wipe in recovery.

After it reboots back to recovery, you can flash your favorite roms and you should have Wifi Calling.

Credits goes to rahan95 and Bin4ry for the hboot and mike1986 for SuperWipe.

Much easier to just have a wifi calling flashable, no? Feels like there is too much room for error for some of the new users...

Just my opinion...

Thanks. Was wondering why the issue with recognizing as an HTC Sensation 4G, but I still had wifi calling working with correct lib files and build.prop edits. BTW, I had no reboot issues. I used the fastbot com
command on the hboot.img directly:
fastboot flash hboot hboot.img

Where can I get a WiFi Calling flashable? The one by xboarder56 no longer works for me. I'm running on CM7 Alpha 7 without WiFi Calling. I have 2 other Sensations that have WiFi Calling, though.

WiFi Calling never came back for me ever since kmobs suggested to deleted the apk in Alpha 1 for those who had problems with WiFi Calling FCing. After I deleted it, I used xboarder56's patch to get the apk back, but now it doesn't work. I've tried wiping and reflashing Alpha 7 to no avail.

The OP seems to have had a different problem losing WiFi Calling and doesn't apply to my case. I only read the thread hoping it would pertain to my problem, but it doesn't. If I can get any help getting WiFi Calling back, that would be very much appreciated.

BTW, my Sensation is already ENG S-OFF since day one.

If you install Xboarders version 1.0.6 you have to edit the build.prop

After the line that reads:
ro.ril.hsxpa = 3

ADD:
ro.ril.enable.ganlite = 1

After the line that reads:
rild.libpath=/system/lib/libhtc_ril.so
# RilLibPath for Ganlite by Godel_Chen

ADD:
rild.libpath.ganlite=/system/lib/librilswitch.so
rilswitch.vendorlibpath=/system/lib/libhtc_ril.so
rilswitch.ganlibpath=/system/lib/libganril.so
If you like my work BUY me a cup of coffee PLEASE ALSO, don't forget to say THANKS

Thanks, I'll try that right now.

I only realized now that 1.0.6 didn't come with a build.prop. Noob moment. :]

Actually, I just did what you said and put that build.prop into the 1.0.6 zip and flashed it all together. That way I got to wipe cache, Dalvik, etc. and reboot all at once.

---------- Post added at 10:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:13 AM ----------

I just did all that and my phone isn't booting up.

The line:

rilswitch.vendorlibpath=/system/lib/libhtc_ril.so

Is it supposed to be that? Or this:

rilswitch.vendorlibpath=/system/lib/libhtc_ril_switch.so

When you added the build.prop did you include the original build.prop info and just add what I told you? Or, did you just put these in the build.prop and not include the original info? If you did not include the original info, then that is your problem, that is why I said to just add that info to the current build.prop, so you did not lose the rest of the info that was in the original build.prop

LOL. Of course I only appended the lines you gave me. The original build.prop is untouched aside from those lines I've added.
