Default Need stock 2.3.3 Mms.apk

My friend tried to install the AOSP Mms app, but somewhere along the lines his stock Mms.apk was deleted, and so he needs the stock APK. He's running 2.3.3 Gingerbread that came on the phone, build number 3.02.605.1, Sense 2.1 (obviously), and I can get you whatever other information you need. And yes, we've tried copying the APKs from other custom ROMs, but none of them have worked, or even shown up in the app drawer. Also, the kernel version is:

2.6.35.9-g6760582
htc-kernel@and18-2 #1

Thanks in advance.

what u have to do is pull the mms.apk from the stock rom then manually install it in system/app with root explorer, change the permissions to rw-r-r and then reboot

We did all of that aside from changing the permissions, but he flashed the AOSP MMS app, so it's fine now. But thank you for your reply.
