Also I think you might need to check the name of the img file and locaton.

I just got a Legend from my brother (he upgraded to a One X) so I'm quite new to the device (I've been using a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 and some tablets up until now).

I was able to unlock the boatloader following the htcdev site instructions and then was able to root using the SuperTool. I enabled usb debugging and tried the S-OFF method with both 5.0.2.0 and 5.0.2.8 images.

Here comes the interesting part. I am able to go into recovery however when I try to select any of the options I am not getting anything just the hat logo in the middle and a black screen. I remember from the Galaxy S that when I choose wipe data/factory reset or wipe cache then I need to confirm this on the next screen. Also there are some menuitems (like advanced, mounts and storage) that have submenus. Now these are not showing up at all.

Basically this makes me unable to factory reset or wipe the device or to load any roms...

Does anyone have an idea what I'm missing here?

Cheers,
Peter

Try pressing the trackball to select items instead of the power button

Thank you very much, the S-ON way worked for me and put an end to a whole day trying to flash a recovery image!

Hey Guys! I have a problem here

My phone is now rooted, but I'm not sure if properly done so. Because when trying to apply the update.zip it tells me the following:
failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Instalation aborted.

I've tried 5020 and 5028 and both won't work. Any help?

edit: solved
