[Q] Updating Gio (Kies)

Hi, everyone!

I just bought Samsung Galaxy Gio s5660 and I saw that update is available on Kies.
So I was wondering...
Firstly, I have a slow internet connection (512kb/s), so how much time it will takes to upgrade my phone? Or how much MB?
Then, should I pull out SD card or SIM card before updating?
Would everything been deleted? I guess I have to do a backup.
I don't want to screw something up, so I'm asking this. (I'm a noob, of course)
If there is any step by step tutorial, or video tutorial, or anything else I should know, please tell me.

Kies updates should be non wipe.
But as always, make a backup of your stuff in case of any unforseen circumstances (they do hsppen).

The filesize will be around 150mb. Search in youtube. There are videos for how to update samsung galaxy devices via Kies
