It's been confirmed that this is a hardware problem and the fuel-gauge chip has to be replaced! So stop waiting, relock your bootloader, flash the original firm and take it to the service.

I dont think SE service center will accept phones with relocked bootloader because the warranty is already void when providing IMEI code to SE to acquire unlocking code. I could be wrong.

Yeah that's true they can easily check if you ever attempted to unlock your bootloader, but then again how the hell you messed up the rooting with an unlocked bootloader.

Indeed you are wrong, those codes are randomly generated and they have no way to check that. Also, why would you mention that you messed up rooting? Just tell them it happened during update via SEUS.
A friend of mine had the same problem and the service center charged him 30 eur for the repair of the said chip. But he was foolish enough not to relock the bootloader, not to mention he was rooted...

You are wrong my Bulgarian brother. They keep the IMEIs of all the people who attempted to get an unlock code. I'm not sure if they are giving the retailers a way to check if the device IMEI has been given an unlock code or not, but i'm 100% sure that they keep that info.
But yeah the best way will be to lock the bootloader (if unlocked), flash stock firmware and take it to a service center.

After step 14 they say that your warranty will be void. http://unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com/instructions

Devs and experienced users also say that you can request your unlock code without worries about the warranty. Just the unlocking itself void the warranty.
