Default [Q] cifs manager / kernel

Hi there all,

I have a strange problem.. Here goes.. I have a galaxy tab p7500 (G3/Wifi) model, and when i first got it i rooted it out of the bos placed cifsmanager on it and downloaden/used cifs_froyo_slow_work.zip on it (it has a pre compiled cifs.ko). All was going well untill my screen broke down.. i got like spots on it (in between the glass and the screen). So i brought the device back to the shop and they fixed it(or it looked like i got a whole new one ) But now it started.. i got the device rooted it and put the cifs.ko on it again.. But as of now cifsmanager is staying 'no such device'. So i thought ok it is kernel related (see site of cifsmanager) so i tried everything.. new rom broodcom from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1233328) kernel.. etc. etc.. But still no luck..

I'm getting a little bit grrrrr at the moment because i can't figure out what is wrong/or what i'm doing wrong.. Especially because it went so easy the first time..

Please could somebody push me in the right direction / kernel / rom or something.. thx for the help in advance..

Search "Newton" and "Moisture" under the entire galaxy tab 10.1 forum and you can find out how or why it happens. I don't think there's a fix for it other than getting a new device.

FYI though, its hardware not software.

It did on the old one.. But on the new one it looks like it doesn`t.. Any suggestions ideas/howto on how i can fix this.. I am not a developer so never compiled
*edit i tried an insmod of the module but i get a insmod: init_module 'cifs.ko' failed (Operation not permitted). So i think the kernel i am using now (see post above) is not working with this for some reason.. Can anyone help me?

If you have moved the file inside /data/local/modules successfully and doing insmod /data/local/modules/xxx.ko doesn't work with an "operation not permitted" error, check you have done a "su" first to make sure you are running as root.
