I mentioned the wiping of cache and dalvik. Do it before you flash the kernel and don't reboot until after you have flashed the kernel. As for the lost settings, I have never seen it before. Maybe delete the data for the app and reboot. That fixes alot of app issues.
BFS kernel usually does better for music, but some phones don't seem to like the BFS kernel. Did you wipe cache and dalvik cache before you flashed the kernel? If not, then I suggest you do that and see if it corrects the issue you are having.
yes, i wiped cache and dalvik before installing the bfs kernel. but i cant use any equalizer cuz i hear songs distorted when the screen turns off or on. but when i dont use an equalizer, the songs play fine. but i'd still like to use an equalizer to set my eq settings without this problem. how do i fix this?

I would go back to the default cfs kernel since the bfs is causing you problems.

Im not sure why your having issues...im sorry. I NEVER had problems with playing music using the app from the market called PowerAmp (i bought the paid version and it was well worth it). It always sounded amazing and the equalizer worked great on poweramp. It didnt matter which kernel, headphones or bluetooth, etc.
Both replies above are top notch. Poweramp is the best recommendation for using eq imo. About uv, my inspire cannot handle that stuff. Have tried(extensively).

the problem is fixed, so far.. i had to remove the undervolting on my phone. i no longer have the issue of distortion on my phone from locking the screen.

hey man.. thanks for that great advice.,. i had to remove the undervolting. and in addition, i increased the sleep maximun from 122000 to 230400. and after that, i no longer experienced music static when locking up the phone.. thanks to you.
but now my only 2 issues are:
1) the phone goes to the lockscreen on a busy call.
2) after i reboot, i'm not able to save previous volume levels. for example, after reboot, i got to lower the volume on my mp3 and phone... very annoying.

again, the issue wasnt a music app or equalizer app. i could use any mp3 or equalizer app.. the issue was the phone, pure and simple. i got it under control now.. hope this cures it for good though.
We aren't actively developing Absolution any more. Have you thought about jumping over to one of the roms we are actively developing?
Melchizedek/Redemption/Absolution
rasroygbiv, no offense. but absolution is the most stable of the other roms. this is the only rom that i like.. and the best i've ever had. i humbly ask that you please fix these 2 small issues that i'm sure you can easily take care of.. i would hugely appreciate it more than you know. and i'll even donate.. thank you and please understand.. thanks.
