Unless you've already received help with your issue I can test out the modems in the second link this weekend for you if you'd like.

hi,

I am on 2.3.4 with Jetpack 3.1 and my modem is KB5 with JVH kernel.

Do I need to do everything from scratch if I want to try MIUI?

Can I just flash it like a regular ROM?

Thanks!

To overclock the phone (up to 1.3ghz with stock MIUI kernel), undervolt, and/or underclock then yes SetCPU is needed. However if you don't want to overclock, underclock, or undervolt then you don't have to install SetCPU... Also, i'm glad to hear my guide worked for you.

Hi,

Am I allowed to use the built in updater in miui rom for vibrant?

And if I did that, do I have to back up my stuff before updating it through OTA?

Just curious, why are these install instructions different than those Nick posts up?

His instructions are very easy. ALso on your instructions you say odin to 2.1, then the kernel then the rom. HIs instructions want you coming from a 2.2 rom, then just flash the rom using cwm recovery.

Why the difference in instal methods?

Yes, the updater app can be used in MIUI to update and although you don't necessarily have to backup it's always better to be safe then sorry.

The method in my guide is the way I've personally always flashed MIUI and it's a pretty quick process once you've gotten the hang of it. Plus by flashing back to stock issues like FC's are unlikely... Flashing the kernel is how CWR is achieved in my guide. However, I haven't tried this other method and or seen the instructions for it. If you have a link to his instructions PM the link to me and I'll gladly try it out.
